Before and After Photos

Welcome

Welcome to your guide to Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding®. Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the procedure and what you can do to ensure a result you will love. Remember, this presentation does not take the place of your consultation and you should make sure to take notes of any questions you may want to ask later.

Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding®combines Vaser Hi Def Liposuction and ultrasound guided intramuscular fat augmentation. The most common areas include the Six Pack, obliques, LATS, PECS, biceps, triceps and deltoids. As an NPC (National Physique Committee) competitor, I know what it takes, what you want, and how to give it to you.

Preparation

During your consultation you should provide a complete medical history and a list of medications, including vitamins and herbs.

Here are some tips that may help you shorten your recovery time and decrease your chances of complications.

  • Discontinue using Aspirin (including medications that contain Aspirin), Ibuprofen, Naprosyn, St. John’s Wort, Vitamin E and other supplements as directed. These act as blood thinners and could cause excessive bruising, bleeding or other complications. We will give you a complete list of medications and herbal supplements to avoid prior to your procedure.
  • Stop smoking for at least two weeks before and one week after surgery, as nicotine can impair circulation and healing.
  • Do not drink alcohol in excess for two weeks before your Liposculpturing procedure and one week after the surgery.

Post Surgery

You should expect some bruising, swelling and pain after your procedure. If you feel like you have numbness in the areas treated, don’t be alarmed because this is normal. It will abate over time. Pain medication will be prescribed to control any discomfort, however, if you begin to have severe pain, contact us immediately.

Recovery

The recovery process is different for everyone, but within a day after your Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding®, you should be up and walking around. Excess tumescent fluid will most likely drain from the access points for the first day or two. This fluid may be blood tinged as well. You may shower on the second or third day following surgery. Depending on the number of areas treated, you may need to be out of work and away from your usual activities for the first week. Over the next two or three weeks your treated areas may remain very sensitive and strenuous physical activities should be limited. You will also need to wear a special compression garment for up to a month to help ensure a good contour to your treated areas. Exercise may be resumed in two weeks after surgery.

Results

The results of your Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding® are usually best seen after six weeks. But you will have continued changes out to four months. Your treated areas should look great and retain their sculptured appearance for as long as you maintain a healthy diet, exercise program, and body weight. To assist in maintaining your new physique, we provide a diet and a personalized exercise program developed by Dr. Matlock.

FAQ

What is Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding® and is it different from traditional liposuction?

A: Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding®combines Vaser Hi Def Liposuction and ultrasound guided intramuscular fat augmentation. Vaser Hi Def Liposuction sculpts and chisels the muscular structures of the body (ABS, PECS, LATS, Deltoids, biceps and triceps). Ultrasound guided intramuscular fat augmentation is used to bulk the desired muscles. During the Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding® procedure, the deep, middle, and superficial fat is treated with the VASER probe by applying ultrasonic energy. This energy dislodges the globules of fat, while maintaining its viability. A traditional cannula is then used to extract the fat, fine tune, and then sculpt out the muscular structure. This three step processes is what differentiates Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding® from traditional liposuction. This technique requires that the surgeon be specifically trained in Vaser Hi Def Liposculpturing and Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding®.

What body areas can be treated withAdvanced Surgical Bodybuilding®?

A: We have experienced great success in treating all of the following areas: Six Pack, obliques, PECS, LATS, biceps, triceps and deltoids. In addition, most muscular groups of the body can be treated.

What type of facility is Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding® performed in?

A: Advanced Surgical Bodybuilding®is performed in a State Licensed and Medicare Certified Surgery Center. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, (awake), IV sedation, twilight or general. Ninety-eight percent of our patients request general.
