Breast Revision

Conveniently located to serve the areas of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, CA

Breast Revision surgery may be done for a variety of reasons. In some cases, it may be necessary to correct a problem that developed with a previous augmentation. In other cases, it may need to be done after previous breast lift or breast reduction surgery.

The appropriate operation for each individual is determined during the consultation with one of Dr. Matlock’s hand-selected plastic surgery partners.

If you’re displeased with a previous augmentation, lift, and/or reduction surgery, we want to help. Book your free virtual consultation with us to discuss further!

Recovery

The recovery depends on how complicated the problem is. In general, the recovery will be proportional to the complexity and number of procedures required to correct the deformity. Most patients who undergo revision breast surgery will be able to resume their full level of activity in approximately 3-4 weeks.

This is discussed in further detail once an examination and consultation is completed.

What can I Expect during my surgery?

Surgery Center
Dr. Matlock’s state-of-the-art surgery center is located right next door. The surgery center measures 5000 ft.² and has three operating rooms, a six-bed recovery area, and three pre-op rooms.

Anesthesia
Patients can choose from the following choices for anesthesia: local, local with IV sedation, twilight, or general. 98% of patients request general anesthesia. This decision is between the patient and the anesthesiologists. The anesthesiologist will call the patient the day before the procedure to answer all questions concerning anesthesia care.

Pre-Op
In the pre-op room, you will be prepped by the operating room RN and anesthesiologists. We will then use a surgical marker on the skin to delineate exactly what is to be done during the Breast Lift procedure.

Can you describe the technique used for the Breast revision procedure?

Revision breast surgery is complex. Each patient is different and presents with a unique combination of surgical problems. The key is to correctly identify each problem and carefully plan each solution.

The correction may require a variety of procedures. This may include total removal of a capsule, removal and replacement of implants, revision of scars, excision of breast tissue, reshaping of breast tissue, and other related procedures.

The individualized plan for correction cannot be determined until a full consultation and careful examination is completed by Dr. Matlock and one of his trusted plastic surgery partners.
